Jul. 07, 1965 - Europe's Largest Catamaran Launched. Europe's largest catamaran, the 30-ton £70, 000 vessel, Tsulamaran, was launched at G. Prout's shipyard, at Canvey Island. The boat was built by Prout's for Mr. Patrick Hall, director of a large engineering company. The vessel would normally be driven by sails, but it is also fitted with two 100 h.p. Keystone Photo Shows:- The 30-ton vessel is eased down the slipway by means of Tirfor T-35 machine, which can be operated by two men on a lever.
