May 05, 1967 - Egypt warns U.N. to Withdraw from Border: Egypt today called on the United Nations to withdraw its peace-keeping force from the border with Israel as army chiefs in Caris ordered their troops to prepare for defensive action against Israel. The warning to the U.N.Force was given to avoid it being subjected to danger in case of military action. The Cario newspaper Al Ahram reported that the commander of the UAR's land forces, GENERAL Abdel Mohsen Kamel Mortagi has become General Commander of Egyptian Forces on the Frantier with Israel in case of Military operations.
