May 05, 1967 - Egypt warns U.N to Withdraw from Border. Egypt today called on the United Nations to withdraw its peace-keeping forces from the border with Israel as army chiefs in Cairo ordered their troops to prepare for defensive action against Israel. The warning to the U.N. force was given to avoid it being subjected to danger in case of military action'. The call for the withdrawal of United Nations emergency force from the Israeli border to the Gaza strip came from Marshal Abdel-Hakim Amer, first Vice-President and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
