Sep. 09, 1966 - South African Premier Dies After Being Stabbed By White Parliamentary Messenger: Dr. Vernoerd, the South African Premier, was stabbed several time in the neck by a white Parliamentary messenger in the House of Parliament in Capetown this afternoon. Later reports say that Dr. Vernoerd died from his wounds. Photo shows Mr. Ben Schoeman, Leader of the House and South Africa's Transport Minister, who is being tipped as most likely to succeed to the Premiership. Meanwhile he will be acting Prime Minister
