Jul. 07, 1969 - Tom Mboya shot down in the streets of Nairobi.: Tom Mboya, Kenya's Minister of Economic Planning, was shot and killed by an unknown assassin as he was out shopping in the busy streets of Nairobi today. Mr. Mboya 38 was leaving a chemist's shop in Government Road when a car drove up and the gunman put several bullets into him. He was rushed to hospital but she was dead on arrival.
