Jul. 07, 1971 - Mrs. Khansa Al-Nur flies to Sudan.: Colonel Babikr Al-Nur, the man named President of Sudan after last week's abortive 72 hour coup and his right hand man, Major Hamadallah, were executed by firing squad yesterday, it was officially announced in Khartoun. The announcement ended a succession of conflicting reports about the fate of the two men. Major Hamadallah, seized with Col Al - Nur from a BOAC plane after it had been forced to land in Libya, was earlier reported to have been shot by a firing squad on Sunday. Mr.s Khansa Al-Nur, wife of Col. Babikr Al-Nur, was told of her husband's execution seconds before she flew from Heathrow to Khartoum. She was already on board the Alitalia jet when an airline official told her of the official announcement from the Sudan. She chose to continue her journey and the plane took off for Rome.
