Dec. 12, 1971 - As part of more than a week's celebrations to mark the tenth anniversary of Tanzania's independence, President Nyserere yesterday attended a mass display of drill and gymnastics given by school children in Dar es Salaam's National Stadium. Many of the boys were dressed as soldiers of Tanzania's people defence force and were armed with woodden rifles. part of a gift from Redchine. President Nyerere gave the occasion a Flying start by releasing a cageful of Symbolic pigeons. Captions for Photographs.
