Dec. 12, 1971 - Four visiting Heads of State - from Burundi, Somalia, Zambia and Botswana - were with Tanzanian President Julius K. Nyerere in Dar es Salaam's National Stadium at a mamoth military march-post on the tenth anniversary of Tanzania's independence. The military review climaxed more than a week's celebrations. A crowd estimated at 30, 000 people roared their approval as units of the Tanzanian People's Defence Force, the People's Militia, Police, National Service and Young Pioneers marched past the presidential stand. captions for pictures: President Julius Nyerere arrives at the National Stadium.
