Dec. 12, 1969 - President of Dahomey shot. Dahomey, boarded on the east by Nigeria and on the west by Togo, was reported today to have been taken over by rebellious array troops let by Chief of Staff L. out. Colonel; Maurice Koundate, the man who last tried to grab power in a December, 1967, coup. T e rebels in the former French West African colony with a 3, 000, 000 population were said to have ator ed the presidential palace and shot the 51-year-old president, Dr, Emile Zinsou.
