Oct. 10, 1973 - Zaire River Expedition for Explorers.: A 14 - strong international expedition which plans to navigate the 2, 718 mile zaire River from its source near the Zambian border toanana on the Atlantic, will leave for Central Africa next Autumn. It will be led by major John Blashford - Snell, Chairman of the Scientific Exploration Society.
