Dec. 12, 1974 - Premier Ian Smith frees African Rebels: A dramatic breakthrough in Lusaka talks has been reached between the she Salesbury government, and the Rhodesian African Nationalists. Mr. Smith has agreed to release all political prisioners, and the Nationalish have agreed to a cease fire of the guerrillors, which has been raging for the last 2 years.
