May 05, 1972 - Kenya's Foreign Minister Weds: On 12th May 1972 the wedding took place of Dr Njorage Mungai to the former Miss Lilian Njeri Njenga, daughter of Mr Folix Njenga of Limuru near Nairobi. The wedding, which was performed by the Rev. John Gatu, general secretary of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa at Nairobi's St Andrew's Church. Handsome, Suave Dr Mingai, who is Kenya's foreign minister and one of Africa's best-known figures in the world outside, was until his associated closely with president Jamo Kenyatta for many years, and is regarded in some quarters as a likely candidate to be kenyatta's successor when Mzee finally passes on
