Nov. 11, 1977 - Security Council Unanimously Imposes Mandatory Arms Embargo Against South Africa: The Security Council this afternoon voted unanimously to impose a mandatory arms embargo against south Africa, under Chapter VII of the Charter. The Council acted by adopting a draft resolution which the president of the Council, Hansur R. Kikhia (Libya), said had been prepared in the Course of intensive Consultations among members. Hansur R.
