Oct. 10, 1975 - Egypt Displays Its Military Might: Egypt displayed its military might at a parade celebrating the second anniversary of the 1973 war with Israel. President Sadat, in the uniform of the supreme commander of armed forces, took the salute as token units with various weapons filed past his reviewing stand at Nasr (victory) City near Cairo. The military display included Western aircraft and arms which were appearing for the first time. Before the parade began the President laid a wreath on the memorial stand of the Unknown soldier in homage to those who fell in combat during the October 1973 war. Photo shows pictured taking the salute at the military parade are (L to R) Vice President Hosny; President Sadat and Deputy-Premier and Minister of War, Mohammed Abdel Ghani Al Gamassy
