Nov. 11, 1977 - No mediation on Sahara war: Algeria have rejected any mediation on the Western Sahara conflict, in which Polisario Insurgents backed by Algeria are fighting for independence from Morocco and Mauritania, Polisario front party of the insurgents are clainming to have delt heavy blows on Mauritanian and Moroccan forces. Tension between France and Algeria rose over the capture by Polisario's guerrilas of two French residents. French military planes have been reported fling reconnaissance missions to keep in touch with Polisario troop movements.
