Nov. 11, 1980 - Pardon Report on Edgar Tekere Denied. A report that Zimbabwe Cabinet Minister Mr. Edgar Takere might be released even if convicted of the murder of a white farmer, has been denied. The release of Mr. Takere was alleged to have been forecast by Zimbabwe's Information Minister, Mr. Nathan Shamuyarina. But a senior Government spokesman, after consulting with the Minister said the report was a blatant fabrication'. Mr. Shamuyarira, he said firmly and flatly denied discussing the case of Mr. Takere, who is Minister of Manpower, Planning and Development.
