Agriculture - Barns - Farming - Livestock

1972 - Drought..Cattle hand fed; Poll hereford and hereford cattle are hand fed on Rosscommon a 22, 000 acre property owned by Mr. M. Coleman in north western NSW, stricken by the worst drought in this century. Here a friend, (of the Coleman) Mr. Jack Gale, a stock and station agent who was taking a count on the cattle pauses to hand feed a sheep which had collapsed from hunger and thirst. Behind the once lush Narran Lake is fast becoming a sandy desert. (Credit Image: (c) Keystone Pictures USA/ZUMAPRESS.com/Mary Evans)
