After years of research, Alfred Wheatcroft and his brother Harry have beaten the world. It was conveived by crossing one variety with another, taking the first born and crossing them again. Each time a seed was grafted it took a year to see the result. And many many times it was failure. Yesterday Alfred had a letter It read When I came home again, I want to grow your roses. My garden faces west'. The note paper was headed Dartmoor Prison. 25-7-51
