Mar. 22 Farmyard Cut-Up: A new tool cutting silage, peat and farmyard manures at the rate of 12 feet a minute will be seen at an agricultural show in London next month. Called the Silo-Aide, it has a oscillating blade, driven by each other gasoline engine or an electric motor, It is described as easy to handle and maintain, well-balanced, with a minimum of moving parts operating in a totally enclosed oil bath. Photo Shows The silo cutter is demonstrated. When the blade reaches a depth of eight inches, a slight rocking motion by the operator will make the machine edge along in the right direction.
