Agriculture - Barns - Farming - Livestock

Dec. 12, 1960 - Many a slip twixt the grape and the nip; Grapes on their way to be nipped in the press and later in the glass are responsible for the annual appearance of this sign on the main road outside the Headquarters of Britain's Middle East Air Force at Episkopi, Cyprus. At wine harvest time truck loads of grapes are carried from the vineyards on the slopes of the Troodos Mountains to the wine presses in Limassol. Juice trickles from the tailboards during the journey and forms a dangerously slippery surface which hosing fails to move. Left to Right; Senior Aircraft woman Marjory Smith of Wokingham, Sergeant Diana Tait of Rickmansworth, and Senior Aircraftman Alan Sharpe of Couledon, all from England and all members of Britain's Royal Air Force
