Oct. 27, 1962 - Disastrous harvests were predicted, but because of exceptionally late harvests, all of the predictions were reversed. The drought caused a long delay and we were talking about importation, rising prices, and sugaring to raise the amount of alcohol. The wine will be abundant and it will be good. Thanks to the October sun which caused this spectacular improvement in the quality, 1962 will be an excellent year. The Bourgogne will be juicy, the Vouvray great, the Champagne robust, Provence fruity, and the vintage wines from Santernes exceptional.
