Feb. 28 Mr. Fujiyama photographed in his modern western style home in Tokyo. At Home With Japan's Foreign Minister - Artist And Cyclist: 60-year-old Aiichi Fujiyama, Japanese Foreign Minister, is one of the wealthiest men in Japan which enables him to indulge his hobby of collecting paintings and other works of art. He owns one of the finest private collections of works by modern oil painters, both of the East and the West, in Japan. He paints himself and is a leading member of the Churchill Society (one of the best known and most active Japanese groups of amateur painters) and, despite his busy life, he still paints about four pictures every month. The Foreign Minister is a very fit man and he keeps that way be cycling for a half an hour every morning, weather permitting. Most mornings around 6.30 a.m. he is to be seen dressed in shorts pedlling around the streets. Mr. Fujiyama is shortly off to America where one of his missions will be to get Japan a seat on the U.N. Security Council. He is looking forward to getting acquainted with American works of art and one of his first visits will be to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In Tokyo, Mr. Fujiyama lives in a modern looking western house in quient surroundings of a residential area about 25 minutes from the Foreign Ministry and next door to the Italian Embassy
