Mar. 03, 1953 - Italian sets up new parachute Jumping record. New Delayed drop near Rome. Sauro Rinaldi an Italian parachute Jumping expert recently set up a new record for a delayed descent by dropping from a height of 8, 400 meters but not pulling his ripcord until he was only at a height of 300 meters from the ground ( about 1, 000 feet).
