Feb. 29 American jet fighter shot down in Bavaria An American jet fighter F-84 being on a routine flight in Southern Germany was attacked and shot down by two Czech jet fighter of Russian origin of the type MIG-15 about 25 kilometers before the Czech border, on Tuesday afternoon about 11 hours middle-European time. The pilot could save himself by means of his parachute. Our picture shows American air-police at the burnt out wreckage of the F-84 which crashed near Falkenstein in the district or Roding.
