Sep. 09, 1953 - Test Pilot Lucky Lithgow to make attempt on world air speed record.: It was announced today that Test Pilot Lucky Lithgow (Lieut. Commander Michael Lighgow) is to make an attack on the new world air speed record set up last week by Neville Duke. He will fly a Vickers Supermarine Swift swept-wing jet fighter at Castel Benito, Italy. Standing by in case of need will be Lithgow's Colleague. Fly. Lt. David Morgan. The attempt will be made in Tripoli as the drier conditions are more suitable for high speed flying. Commander Lithgow and Lieut.
