Takes off for North Africa.: Last minute preparations are being made today in the blazing sunshine of Tripeli for 33 year old test pilot Mike Lithgow's attempt on the world air speed record in his Supermarine Swift jet fighter. The attempt is to be over a course in the desert, 40 miles south of Castle Idris airfield.
