Nov. 11, 1952 - Airliners Test Fido Installation At Blackbushe Airport: Three civil airliner carrying observes took off between two rows of burning petrol mixture at Blackbushe, Surrey, today. The purpose being to assess pilot and passenger reactions to Fido and not to prove its fog clearing capabilities, which are already known.Photo Shows Some of the aircraft lined up on the runway - between the Fido flares during the test last night
