Aug. 08, 1953 - Nevile Duke makes record speed attempt. flies the hawker hunter: this evening made attempt record of 715.09 m.p.h. at present held Jet. He made the flightnear Little Hampton in a capture the record he will have to reach a speed of 722, 847 m.p.h. Photo shows Nevile Duke seen in the cockpit of the Hawker Hunter at the end of his record attempts at Tangmere today. The results is to be announced later
