Sep. 09, 1954 - The Comet II and the Comet III take to the air. Ready for showing at Farnborough Air display.: Great interest has bean centered around the prototype Comet III - latest product of the De Havilland Aircraft Company - following the news that the cause of the disasters to two of its per-decessors had been found. Both the Comet II and Comet III will e seen demonstrated at the Farmborough Air Display which opens tomorrow. The machines will work in partnership on the world's air routes. The II being suitable for the medium stage lengthsp to 2, 600 miles and the developing traffic volume. Both models have been ordered by Canadian Pacific Airlines ; Union Aeromaritime de Transport; Air Frances; Linea Aeropostal Venezolana, Japan Air Lines and Pansirddo Brasis - while the Comet III has been ordered by Pan American World Airways and Air India International.
