Jul. 07, 1953 - New Test House-Laboratories And Wind Tunnel For Supersonic Aircraft At Badlett; Seen by V.I.P's for the first time today were the new Test House, Research Laboratories and high speed wind tunnel or the Handley Page Redlett Aerodrome. The equipment provides for the test and development of structure and airframe services of large high speed aircraft to be carried out on new structural forms. The Test House covers 30, 000 sq. ft. Floorspace. The main test frame is 50% wider and higher then the famous Cathedral Rig at the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnbourough.
