Jul. 03, 1954 - Crash Pilot clings to wing - Pier crowd sees rescue after sea crash off Hastings. Hastings holidaymakers saw a small plane dive into the sea off the coast yesterday. They saw the pilot, 27 year old Mr. Micheal Macey, of Sutton Valence, clamber out to the wing. Then three swimmers splashed to the rescue. with a lifeboat and lifeline they landed both safely from 30 yards off shore
