Jul. 22, 1954 - The Navy's Flying Postman Helicopter Delivers Mail To Ships In Nato Exercise: A Fleet Air Arm helicopter is delivering mail to officers and men of the Royal Navy ships taking part in the Nato exercise Haul in the Channel area. Twice a day the plane takes off and hovers over the ships at mast height to lower the bags. Photo shows An A. 51 helicopter, piloted by Lt-Com.
