Nov. 11, 1954 - First over North pole air service starts: Machine arrives in Copenhagen: Many well known personalities were on board the Royal Viking airliner when she landed in Copenhagen yesterday at the end of the first over North Pole service flight from Los Angeles a journey of more than 5, 800 miles saving time another aircraft flew in the opposite direction from Copenhagen to Los Angeles.
