Oct. 07, 1955 - Comet 11 Airliner flies Home after Undergoing tropical tests in Africa. The Comet 11 airliner, which has been undergoing supplementary tropical trials in Africa, during which it visited Khartoum, for take off trials in hot weather, and Entebbe, for similar trials at high altitudes, returned to Hatfield today, piloted by Captain John Cunningham, the De havilland company's chief test pilot. The comet airliner was the first to fly beyond Britain since the comet disasters of 18 months.
