Flying College Canberra jet bomber Aries IV, which landed at West Malling, Kent, at 3.48 a.m (BST) on June 28 (Tuesday) after flying from Ottawa to London a distance of 3330.4 miles in 6hrs. 42 mins. 12 s. or an average speed of 496-8 m.p.h. after making the first official recorded capital to capital transatlantic flight by a jet aircraft and thus setting up a new record, subject to F.A.I. confirmation.
