Mar. 03, 1955 - Press Visit To New Southern Air Traffic Control Centre At London Airport: A press visit was held today at London Airport to the new Southern Air Traffic Control Centre which is to replace the exing centre at Uxbridge. It has specially seen designed to cope with the Air Traffic for the whole of Southern England - airways and radar control. Photo Shows: A communications Officer at work passing Traffic messages two and from aircraft. These messages relate to air conditions - etc. as well as recording everything that passes between aircraft and control.
