Sep. 27, 1956 - A Polish Air Force Lieutenant landed one of the latest type MIG jet fighters on the tiny airfield at Roenne on the Baltic Island of Bornholm and asked for political asylum. The MIG is of a design previously unknown to Western experts. It is believed to be an improved version of the MIG 15. The wing of the plane was damaged when the pilot landed the aircraft on an unfinished part of the airfield. Photo Shows: View of the MIG aircraft, after landing on the Danish Island of Bornholm
