May 05, 1955 - German Flying Priest Is Buying Ex-R.A.F. Tiger Moths And Other British Aircraft For Flying Club: Father Schults -West Germany's Flying Priest - has started a scheme which he hopes will attract hundreds of young Germans - he is forming a Flying Club in Germany with Ex-R.A. F. Tiger Mother and similar aircraft. The machines are being overhauled at Thruxton Aerodrome, Wiltshire by 47 year old former Lufwaffe Bomber Pilot - Captain Barnhard Schlaeger and two German Technicians. When the machines have been overhauled they are flown to Germany for Father Schulte's Flying Club. Photo shows Two German with a Proctor aircraft at Thrumton - purchased for inclusion in the Father Schulte's Flying School. They are Herr Heinz Schmid and Karl Bott (seen L-R)
