Jan. 01, 1956 - 1-1-56 Helicopter brings home the men who risked their lives to save two men. Drama on Mont Blanc Eight men trapped trying to save two men students in the White Hell of Mont Blanc, were rescued by helicopter yesterday. The students, Jean Vincendon (24) of Paris and Francois Henry (22) of Belgium were trapped on the mountain on December 22nd. Last Monday a rescue helicopter crashed near the trapped man. The crew installed the two students in the shelter of the wrecked plane then installed themselves in shelter high up the mountain. Later four more men were parachuted from another helicopter, they were unable to reach the wrecked machine and were themselves trapped. All hope of saving the students has been given up.
