Jul. 07, 1957 - Spitfire Aircraft Join Batlle of Britain flight at R.A.F. Biggin Hill; The tress remaining Spitfires in the R.A.F. were today flown to Biggin Hill R.A.F. Station to join the Figher Command's only Hurricane. The aircraft are to be maintained to take part in official Fly pasts etc. They are being flown by famous Battle of Britain Pilots - Group Capt. J.E. Johnson D.S.O; Group Capt. J. Rankin D.S.O.; and Wing Commander Peter D. Thompson D.F.C. Photo Shows The Three Spitfires fly in formation over the lone Hurricane at Bigging Hill prior to the handing over ceremony this morning
