Aug. 08, 1957 - The delivery of the first giant Douglas C-133 to the Military air Transport Service was made at Dover Air Force Base, Dalamare, 28 August 1957. Specially designed for the MATS by Douglas the huge cargo carrier is designed to haul greater pay loads on longer flights than any other aircraft now in production. Its great range permits nonstop overseas service. Span of the high-wing plane is 1790 fest 8 inches. Its fuselags is more than 157 feet long from the tip of its tail to the randoms and 16 feet in diameter. The tail stands more than 48 feet from the ground, about the height of a four story building
