Dec. 04, 1957 - Noise absorbing device for jets.: Has been developed by the American Boeing-air-craft works in two years. In order to muffle the terrific noise of the jet-motors not only during start- for this cause are already special devices available - but also during flight - the noise is being muffled by addition of a silencer consisting of several pipes. Inside the air-craft the noise is being muffled by this special device to a minimum, although it was not by deafening as on the ground.
