Oct. 10, 1958 - Lost Test Pilot Walks Out Of The Sea After Being Thirty Hours Adrift In A Dinghy: A man wearing flying kit waded a shore from a dinghy yesterday and staggered, gaunt and haggard, into a garden. He was the test pilot of the P1 Lightning jet fighter aircraft which plunged into the sea on Thursday - he had some back from the dead. The pilot Johnny Squier had been adrift's in the dinghy for 30 hours in the wind-swept Irish Sea and Selway Firth after escaping by using his ejector seat. He stuabled a shore near Carlieston, Wigtownshire, about 30 miles from the point there his 1, 300 m.p.h. plane crashed into the sea. Miss Jocelyn Dongidson, housekeeper of a children's home, put him to bed. He was later transferred to hospital. Photo shows Mr. J.W.C.
