Sep. 09, 1959 - Three Decades History of Aviation: show the Stieglitz biplane, built in 1930, and the modern jet-liner Boeing-707. This attractive picture was to be seen at Frankfurt air-port'Rhein-Main, when the 3900 m runway - the longest in Europe - was opened. The Boeing-707 of PAA came specially for this celebration from Paris to Frankfurt. Its start was the opening of the jet-liner-service - beginning October 25th - between Frankfurt and New York. The distance between these two towns will be reduced to eight hours flight
