Feb. 26 Giant Airliner to seat 490 passengers Pan American World Airways have announced they have ordered 25 of the new giant airliner, the Boeing 747, at a cost of 187, 000.000. Delivery of the planes will begin in September. The planes will fly at 45, 000 feet, nearly a mile higher than present airliners and will carry 490 passengers across the Atlantic at 650 mph. The new planes could reduce passenger fares by as much as 35 percent. OPS: 1) a mockup of the cabin of the new liner showing the seating plan for economy class, with nine seats abreast. Thrift Class seating will be to abreast. April 15/66
