Feb. 26 Supersonic Bug Head-on air shot of the English Electric P.11 Lightning two-seater trainer over Hampshire, England, gives it the appearance of a bug. Said to have flown at approximately twice the speed of sound, the trainer version of Britain fastest all-weather jet fighter is on order for the Royal Air Force. It will be delivered with provision for a full weapon system so that it can also be used as an operational aircraft.
