Feb. 26 Supersonic Bug Head-on air shot of the English Electric P.11 Lightning two-seater trainer over Hampshire, England, gives it the appearance of a bug. Said to have flown at approximately twice the speed of sound, the trainer version of Britain fastest all-weather jet fighter is on order for the Royal Air Force. It will be delivered with provision for a full weapon system so that it can also be used as an operational aircraft. Part of the weapon system, two firestreak guided missiles are shown on either side of the fuselage
