Feb. 26 New Old Way to Beat Airports Problem. A major aircraft company is now pressing for development of a huge fleet of flying boats. Designed to beat airport congestion, the innovation would consists of a fleet of converted Lockheed Hercules Transports. Equipped with a hydroski and wing floats the craft would carry 100 passengers to and from destination with rivers, lakes or protected coastal waterways. The water runway would ease traffic at airports, and in some instances solve the problems of creating expensive new airports. The idea is currently under serious consideration by aviation authorities
