Aug. 08, 1955 - 66 Killed in Plane Crash. 66 US - servicemen were killed in a plane crash involving two C-119 troop-carrier-planes. The planes collided in midair shortly after their departure from Stuttgar -Echterdingen airport. Both planes exploded when they hit the ground. The accident occured near Freudenstadt in the Black Forest.There were no survivors. Photo shows the scenes were the planes came down
