Aug. 08, 1955 - Canberra Mark 7 Leaves For Record Attempt London - New York - London: A Canberra Mark 7 Photographic reconnaissance aircraft of the English Electric Company - left London Airport this morning on a return flight to New York. She is piloted by John William Hackett and Peter Moneypenny is the navigator, both of Silver City Airways. The distance to be covered is 6, 920 Statute miles. It is hoped that a new record will be set up. Photo Shows: The scene as the aircraft took off from London Airport this morning
