Feb. 26 Test For A Mighty Sensitive Snout: An advanced radar system is seen being tested for the new super giant Douglas D.C. 10 Jetcraft. Due to came into service in 1971, the plane will have a sensitive radar system in its 7-ft. diameter nose cone. Capable of radiating 60, 000 watts it will have a beam range of 300 nautical miles that will show weather pictures well in advance of the plane's course. Currently being built at Santa Monica, California, the DC 10 will carry up to 345 passengers. Photo Shows DC 10 nose cone housing the long-distance radar system.
